Calibrated
monitors are not affordable! Who says so?
basICColor display turns every monitor into a calibrated
imaging and soft proof station. Other calibration software just writes LUTs
into the video RAM of your video card and reduces the number of visible
colors. basICColor displayautomatically calibrates the hardware of your
monitor with the optional DDC cable and thus maintains the highest quality
possible. You can select gamma and white point for the calibration, or you
calibrate to a light source that you measure with a spectrophotometer (e.g.
your light box). With the appropriate measurement instrument you can calibrate
and profile TFT displays as well. What happens to out-of-gamut colors? A
"normal" monitor profile will clip them to the edges of your monitor
gamut. A unique feature in basICColor display lets you create ICC profiles
which preserve detail in those out-of-gamut colors. Once created, your profile
will be written to the appropriate place (depending on the operating system),
it will be defined as the system profile and activated - no additional steps
required. The monitor calibration can be edited to your individual preferences
and needs, the calibration curves can be stored in the profile. basICColor
display supports vcg tags even on the Windows platform. |
