09.04.2020: NEW: Hardware calibration "light" in basICColor display 6
Many monitors can be pre-calibrated via the standardized protocol DDC/CI. basICColor display 6 supports this technique, allows for controlling the luminance and in some circumstances also the white balance. The properties of the monitor are shown in the main window of basICColor display 6.
Hardware-calibrateable monitors:
NEC PA and others

basICColor display 6 also supports older EIZO models which are not supported by ColorNavigator 7 – and thus not under macOS Catalina:
CG210, CG211, CG220, CG221, CG241W, CG301W, CG303W, CG222W, CG232W, CG242W, CG243W
DDC/CI-capable monitors:
Luminance and color temperature

Luminance only
Monitors which can only be calibrated thru Video-LUTs in the graphic card (software calibration):
Software calibration only
For this category of monitors, basICColor display 6 offers a manual pre-cal mode that allows to set luminance and in some cases also color temperature based on measurements with your monitor instrument. This will reduce or avoid banding and artefacts on your display.
