08.04.2020: CAUTION: Monitor profiles in macOS Sierra thru Big Sur
Especially in a multi-monitor environment the user will be logged out if you use LUT-based monitor profiles. In any case your Icons and other elemets on the desktop will look whacked and your images in Apple´s programs (e.g. Preview) will not be color correct. Wide-gamut displays will show totally oversaturated colors.
That´s why we prohibit creating LUT-based profiles in Sierra and up, as we show here for basICColor display 6:
Monitors which cannot be hardware-calibrated may show banding after calibration.
In older Mac operating systems you can still use LUT based profiles.
